Profile bio

About Karen Spitzfaden

Motivated by finding new solutions to problems and driving impact, I seek projects that are difficult and require teamwork, creativity, and complex analysis. I thrive in ambiguous situations that demand structured thinking and relationship-building, and I approach problems with a commitment to finding a logical, human-centered, and data-driven solution that considers both the long- and short-term. My career has focused on understanding people and the context in which they live and translating those insights into strategy, action, and, eventually, change. Prior to and during graduate school, I worked for non-profit and public-sector organizations, and I continue to be passionate about improving my community. I believe strongly in cross-sector collaboration, and I intend for my career to span industries and sectors.I volunteer each summer as a camp counselor with Experience Camps, a nonprofit that hosts summer camps for young people whose parent or sibling has died, and it is the best thing I do all year.

Listed skills include Leadership, Strategy, Public Speaking, Analysis, and 4 others.
