I am a passionate and experienced educator with a background in psychology and primary education. Over the past 19 years, I have been dedicated to supporting the development and well-being of children in various capacities. With 9 years of experience as a mainstream teacher from Year 1 to Year 6, I honed my skills in creating inclusive learning environments.After that, I transitioned into special education, taking on the role of a SENCO and later serving as a Deputy in different SEN schools across the country. These experiences deepened my understanding of diverse learning needs and the importance of tailored support.In the midst of the COVID pandemic, I embraced the opportunity to step up as a Headteacher, leading a school through unprecedented challenges with resilience and compassion. As I embark on my second headship,I am deeply committed to fostering a sense of belonging within the school community. I firmly believe that when students, staff and families feel valued, heard, and accepted, they are empowered to reach their full potential. Working closely with families is a priority for me as I recognize the crucial role of parental involvement in a child's education. I am passionate about creating strong partnerships that facilitate open communication and collaboration.Moreover, my experience has taught me that behavior is a form of communication. I strive to approach behaviours of concern with empathy, understanding the underlying needs and emotions that drive them. Promoting emotional regulation is paramount in creating a safe and conducive learning environment.Lastly, I am a strong advocate for representation and diversity in education. I believe that every student deserves to see themselves reflected in the curriculum and see positive role models who inspire them. By embracing inclusivity and promoting diverse voices, we can show students that they can be anything they aspire to be, breaking down barriers and fostering a more equitable society.
