The Ivy Foundation provides unprecedented support to the University of Virginia to accelerate the search for scientific knowledge, addressing some of the world’s most urgent medical needs through biomedical innovation and translational research.

Concurrent with Bicentennial responsibilities, as University Protocol Officer, I provided protocol, precedence, etiquette, and customs and practices training and guidance across the institution, as well as briefed senior administrators in advance of meetings with high-profile visitors.

I was responsible for strategic planning and development, oversight, and execution of programming and content to commemorate this extraordinary milestone in the University’s history. The commemoration launched October 5-7, 2017, with an experiential event extravaganza incorporating stunning visuals, performance, and cutting-edge technology to create deeply reflective evening for 20,000 attendees on UVA's Lawn, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and at UVA Club locations around the world. Programming concluded after 20-months of a broad range of efforts reaching more than 400,000 people, including over 115 events, twelve exhibits, 50+ oral histories and podcasts, three books, an original oratorio, three documentary short films, and twelve academic symposiums. I provided executive-level support to nine-member Steering Committee and Commission Co-chairs; recruited and managed 135 faculty, staff, students, and alumni volunteer Commission and Advisory Group members; collaborated with teams across the University, organizing and building consensus on content and program development; and managed a small team of full-time employees and student interns.

Managed a team of nine full time staff members and was responsible for stewardship of the University’s major donors through cultivation and recognition events and various stewardship programs, including presidential gift acknowledgement letters, endowment reports, customized stewardship, establishment of endowed professorships by the Board of Visitors, and management of the University’s highest level giving society.Additionally, successfully coordinated the public launch of U.Va.’s $3 billion campaign in fall 2006; the CASE-award winning weekend was comprised of 54 events over the course of four days, including a black tie gala for 900 people and a fireworks spectacular over the Rotunda, the University’s historic, UNESCO World Heritage-recognized iconic building.

Organized a nationwide series of conferences designed to introduce television producers to digital technology

Reviewed and evaluated proposals requesting CPB funding; shepherded funded proposals through grant process, including negotiating terms and conditions; and maintained contracts through final disbursement, evaluating narrative and financial reports; andDeveloped and delivered presentations and panel remarks to broadcasting and educational audiences of 5-150 people, plus communicated critical analysis of grant proposals with producers
