The ISSD oversees the following offices: The Shipbuilding and Marine Division; Cement, Lime, Gypsum, and Allied Workers Division; Stove, Furnace, Energy, and Allied Workers Division; Railroad Division; Research and Collective Bargaining Services; and Industrial Health & Safety. As the ISSD Secretary I am in many cases the first contact… Show more The Industrial Sector Services Department (ISSD) assists with the collective bargaining process in regards to the shop locals in the United States and Canada. The ISSD oversees the following offices: The Shipbuilding and Marine Division; Cement, Lime, Gypsum, and Allied Workers Division; Stove, Furnace, Energy, and Allied Workers Division; Railroad Division; Research and Collective Bargaining Services; and Industrial Health & Safety. As the ISSD Secretary I am in many cases the first contact for members and International Representatives at IBB Headquarters for the Department. It is my job to keep track of and file the Collective Bargaining Agreements, and other such paperwork in regards to the bargaining process. Which include keeping track of arbitration and hearings governed by the NLRB. As well as keeping a matching, up to date, scanned file of collective bargaining agreements utilized by International Representatives for secure online use in the field. I also keep the files of the Local By-Laws and assist in making sure that the membership dues are in accordance with said By-Laws. I assist the International Representatives in the negotiations process by assuring that all Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service paperwork is correct and filed. Solidifying that proper procedure was in fact adhered to in the event of a strike. As well as sending official ballots to the local for use in the decision to either vote yes on the company proposal, or to strike. The purpose of the reception desk at Progressive Healthcare Group was to greet, sign in, and inform the Medical Assistants that a patient had arrived. There was also a certain amount of triage involved. We were to hold prescriptions for medicines that a patient was unable to call in to the pharmacy. We answered phones, and confirmed appointments, as well as added in same day appointments. We utilized software called Soapware, and were in the process of digitizing medical charts. Progressive Healthcare had 2 doctors and a P.A. It was at the time, the only walk-in clinic in a town of 4,000, and the only clinic in the county that accepted new AHCCCS patients.
