Field job to perform quality control on soils in construction sites using a nuclear gauge and lab calibrated proctors. On construction sites, I work with construction crews on site to test soils for adequate moisture and compaction in accordance with set parameters. Collected samples for proctors, keeps in contact with PMs and contractors, and plot locations using construction plans.Position requires a nuclear gauge certification, which I possess.

At Gem State Crystals I help in identifying rocks and gems that are brought in, taking in projects, and inputting roughly 80% of the inventory.

As a Lab Coordinator for the geology 101 and geography 100 labs, I was in charge of ordering materials to ensure the labs ran smoothly throughout the semester. I held meetings with the teaching assistants weekly and created labs when needed. I wrote the exams for the geology 101 labs and wrote a manual for future lab coordinators to follow.

As a research assistant I aided Dr. Erika Rader in working on lava flow samples for the IceCrystal grant.

I was the teaching assistant for the fall semester of 3 geology 101 labs. In this position I was in charge of teaching the students the fundamentals of geology and grading all exams, quizzes, and labs.In the 2020 spring semester I was in charge of teaching the mineralogy lab. For the most part, my mineralogy class had similar responsibilities to the geology 101 lab course I had taught the previous semester. Once Covid shut down the university, I made new labs that the students could complete online using online microscopy resources as the petrographic microscopes in the lab room could not be utilized.
