Prior to returning to consulting, I served as the Senior Manager of Legal Performance and Advancement at Perkins Coie. I was responsible for the evaluation, promotion and performance management processes for the firm's legal talent. I collaborated with firm management, practice group and office leaders, and attorney development and DEI professionals to enhance the feedback culture and positively impact recruitment, retention, development, advancement and client service. I was privileged to lead a team of dedicated professionals. I retired from a full time law firm position after decades of meaningful work with trusted colleagues, many of who became dear friends.Previously, I served as firm wide Director of Lawyer Personnel, gaining extensive experience in the areas of recruitment and retention, integration, professional development, career paths, mentoring, diversity and inclusion, feedback, performance evaluation and compensation. As the Principal of KAT Consulting, I provided legal talent management consulting services to legal employers and law schools, and presented professional programs on a variety of talent management and leadership topics.I practiced as a litigation associate for six years prior to transitioning into legal talent management roles. I currently volunteer at Swedish Medical Center and the Seattle Art Museum. I've enjoyed serving my community as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Washington, President of the Seattle Downtown YMCA Board of Directors, Vice President of the local chapter of the National League of Young Men, and Elder and Youth Leader at my church.
