Kari has always led her life with the highest of standards, graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville with Bachelors of Science degrees in both finance and accounting, along with a minor in economics. She obtained her Certified Public Accountant license under the “old rules” and has been in public accounting for about thirteen years, starting her career while in college.Her experience ranges from small, local practices while in college to the largest accounting firm in the Midwest upon graduation. However, Kari feels the most important knowledge she has gained over the years has been literally hands-on. Kari is a lifelong resident of Southern Wisconsin growing up in Grant County on a large dairy and crop farm. She worked on the farm baling hay, doing chores and learning the ins and outs of running a family owned business. Even today, one of Kari’s most enjoyable things to do is combine the fall harvest with her Dad.Kari and her firm, Apel Associates, Inc., pass along the same standards to each and every person they encounter. The firm’s philosophies center around treating everyone like family. This is proven in Kari’s interactions with her clients.
