As a versatile professional, I am deeply passionate about creating meaningful connections. With presence, patience, and planning, I've seen that we can turn our desires into reality. A never-ending desire for knowledge, a mind for details and organization, and an appreciation of technology, creativity, and empathy have provided an interesting professional journey. + Accounting: My education and work experience have made me a whiz at Excel, and I have a thorough understanding of financial statements--excellent skills for almost any line of work. At one time, I possessed nearly everything necessary to become a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) except the desire (eventually).+ Fundraising & Business Development: For nine years, working for nonprofit and community organizations, I developed skills for grant writing, fundraising, marketing, communications, and relationship building. When you are in a development director role for a nonprofit, it helps to be the jack-of-all-trades type. I loved knowing my efforts were doing good in the world. Unfortunately, most nonprofit positions do not provide a salary or benefits that make it possible for a single person to support themselves without a second job. + Real Estate: During COVID, I obtained my real estate license, so I would no longer have to be reliant on a single source of income. The deeper I delve into this world, the more I love it. I can help people meaningfully and give back (I donate 10% of my commission to charity). I will forever respectfully and gratefully hold my license and oath as a REALTOR. + Construction: My full-time position is in marketing and preconstruction (I assist in estimating). I began this path toward the end of COVID in July 2021. Although I am not often on a construction site, I know my work improves communities. Much of our work is for school districts, park districts, municipalities, libraries, nonprofits, and healthcare—organizations/entities that play a significant role in quality of life. I am grateful my journey led me here. Beyond professional experiences, I am passionate about wellness--how we care for ourselves matters (I am not perfect, but I strive for balance). My professional and personal experiences drive my personal mission to connect people to knowledge and resources, leading to a well-balanced, well-informed, inspired life.
