Establish and deliver the full People and Culture function to 100+ team members employed across the office, hospitality, marina functions.Partnering with the CEO and Leadership Team to create and deliver a professional, safe and positive workplace for team members plus club members and guests.Responsibilities included introducing and managing a workplace HRIS, coaching senior managers in building people leadership skills, provide advice on employee relations, recruitment, restructures, policy implementation, award compliance, payroll, annual talent review process, pay reviews, deliver workplace compliance training, manage WHS, Workers Compensation and return to work programs.Managing the Club’s response to COVID requirements was a significant part of the role. Creating COVID safe procedures, supporting employee wellbeing, managing the Job Keeper program and reporting to the Board were all key responsibilities during the pandemic. In 2021 the RMYC was awarded the Marina Industry Association ‘Club of the Year’. This award was celebrated within the Club as an achievement of each team members shared effort and success. This role was varied, challenging, rewarding and always enjoyable thanks to the outstanding RMYC team members.

Services delivered included employee relations, recruitment, contract negotiations, policy creation, delivering workplace training on compliance, personal performance and leadership development, conducting workplace employee satisfaction surveys and providing feedback, ideas and programs to improve workplace performance.

Based from the Sydney head office in a stand-alone capacity, the role required the delivery of a full service HR function to the 3 Australian based offices (150 employees). This included hands on management of HR reporting, recruitment of all positions across the business, restructures, performance management, remuneration, payroll, budgeting, training, exit interviews and administration.Supporting all levels of management on employee relations was a key element to the role. Key achievements included a reduction of staff turnover and increased employee morale, improving the recruitment process, introducing career pathing and exit interviews, conducting remuneration & benefit benchmarking, delivery of companywide training programs, implementation of an HRIS (PeopleSoft) and a Personal Development Plan for all employees.
