Stay current in corporate tax and compliance on both the state and local level. SHC operates in all fifty states, and over two hundred local areas. I process income tax (net profit) returns for the local municipalities, as well as property taxes and sales tax. On a quarterly basis, I process unemployment contributions and sales/use taxes. As a healthcare staffing firm, I also report usage to service companies we used on a monthly basis and file wage reports with certain states, and the DOL. On a weekly basis I process the state and local payroll taxes withheld for approximately four thousand temporary talent that we pay.The compliance aspect goes above the taxes I process. Every state has business license, and annual good standing certificates. Some states require a more complex healthcare nursing pool license that are typically processed every two years. Most of the local municipalities require a license as well to operate. It is my duty to keep all required documentation current, and handle any tax issues that may come about.

While processing payroll, there are several areas I am responsible for keeping within compliance; the largest being both tax and labor laws on federal and state levels. Supplemental Healthcare has approximately 52 local offices, and I am responsible for 9 of them; which is roughly 400 paychecks per week. I am one of seven who processes on the corporate level, making team work key to meeting weekly deadlines. Customer service in the invoicing process is important to resolve any billing conflicts, and address accounts payable aging.

My main goal was to have this company recover from the economic recession, which caused for them to be no longer profitable. I assess the potential jobs up for bid, by using my financial background and ratios. If the jobs would not produce a high enough NVP or MIRR, they were passed on. If they did reach the initial point of return, I would estimate the the figures and produce a proposal to bid on the job. Once the potential job were awarded to us, I was responsible for organizing the field operations by coordinating schedules, inspections, and subcontractors. I was also in charge of accounts payable and receivable, weekly payroll, quarterly, and year end taxes.
