Represent a wide range of clients before the Florida legislature and executive branch with a focus on housing, building materials, construction, building codes, sustainability, mitigation, energy, mining, infrastructure and utilities issues. Legislative affairs duties include bill analysis, bill drafting, strategy development and strategic communication, policy monitoring, lobbying, grassroots advocacy and coalition building. Provide association management services including meeting and event planning, member communications, financial management and strategic planning. Provide grant writing and contract procurement services. Develop education and training programs for building industry and construction trades. Implement campaign fundraising activities for political action committees.

Responsible for formulating and implementing legislative priorities for the association. Analyze, monitor and lobby issues impacting the building material industry. Prepare written and oral reports, including articles for association newsletter, weekly legislative reports and post-legislative briefings. Monitor activities of the Florida Building Commission and key regulatory developments by state agencies. Implement fundraising activities for the association's political action committee, participate in campaigns,conduct candidate interviews and determine campaign contributions to candidates. Organize and host annual Legislative Cookout.
