In this role, I was responsible for end to end delivery of the technology that enabled Corporate and Enterprise Risk business capabilities. This included Real Estate, Finance, Human Resources (HR), Audit, Regulatory Reporting, and Procurement. Each domain CIO had full plan, build and run accountability from concept and road mapping, design, delivery, and support. I enjoyed the challenge of applying lean, agile and devops principles in a largely package and SaaS space. During my time in this role, the digital transformation agenda included an aggressive cloud migration. Again, if not already SaaS, most corporate applications were on-premise, vendor package installations. I was responsible for the full portfolio of custom built web and mobile applications at Comerica. The portfolio includes web and mobile development projects that are enterprise level. This includes building effective, happy and productive teams, ensuring development practices and standards are defined and understood, extending the use of agile methods to other teams as well as up stream and down stream processes. I led the first internal team to utilize an enterprise mobile platform which included evaluating, selecting and implementing the first mobile app for commercial customers. This was my first position at Comerica Bank. I was hired to bring Agile Delivery capabilities to the technology department. A pilot team launched in 2010. That team grew year over year to 8 teams along with an enabling team (practice leads, technical writers and build engineers) and UX practice.
