SLIM, as the formal owner of two incubator buildings and the Maastricht Ultra High Field MRI facility, plays a key role in realizing, running and optimizing facilities for entrepeneurship and excellent research in a complex collaborative structure.The main focus is on Brains Unlimited, a collaboration to realise and safeguard the availability of a world class MRI scanning facility.

• Advise on, guard and represent the shareholder interests of UM (Holding) in strategic participations, often in triple helix, especially the Brightlands Campuses with shared founders Province of Limburg, DSM, MUMC and APG• Contribute to strategic developments, business consultant in new initiatives and transformations• Advise the Executive Board regarding major strategic developments (projects) with a focus on optimising set-up, collaborations, impact and output, financial obligations and commitments, (legal) design and structures and funding. • Participate in setting up new strategic collaborations leading to new consortia, new companies or new research groups or institutes.• Guard the strategic UM and public interests while optimising the overall legal and operational construct for the initiatives and collaboration during set up as well as after implementation.• Guide and advise on complex strategic or tactical issues affecting running initiatives/ collaborations; many in close collaboration with Province of Limburg and private partners

Managing and supporting BISS - Maastricht University’s interfacultary and multidisciplinary research institute on data science, located at the Brightlands Smart Services Campus. Realising the decent setup and guiding BISS through the starting phase while in parallel supporting the renewal of the strategy and structure of the campus organisation. At the core of Data Science again ;-)
