Installed/Maintained the platform for a large Epic implementation including support for several complex upgrades, paving the way for the department’s transition to “service provider” for another hospital in the area. Automated zero-downtime backups through the use of Netbackup, Korn shell scripting and array based clone and snapshot technologies on EMC VMAX and XtremIO SAN storage. Managed consolidation efforts by combining several servers onto an IBM P590, then migrating to redundant P595s, P795s and E880 enterprise class servers for better availability. Implemented VCS across the board providing a robust high availability solution for over 25 applications. Responded to recent challenges arising from audit concerns and vulnerability remediation guidelines, meeting strict project deadlines. Assumed the lead S.E. role for the planning and installation of the database servers to be used for Inova’s automated Time & Attendance application.
