Engagement, working for the Chief Information Security Officer, to establish an Information Security Control Framework to integrate and standardise various project based, CPS234 and BAU risk and compliance activities. This role also involved negotiating the Australian input into reporting to the Bupa Enterprise Risk Committee (a board level committee for the global entity) in collaboration with the Global Risk and Compliance team.

I advised the Board and sub-committee for Capital Allocation on change frameworks, project risk, governance, project delivery and facilitate complex decision making to effect our transformation strategy with a view to creating a long-term competitive advantage for the company.

Part of the executive management team and reporting to the COO, this is an interesting role in a highly specialised industry where I have had the opportunity to assess and make recommendations to the Board on major strategic initiatives and create and manage a strategically aligned plan to deliver the technology roadmap for the next 12 months. This role reported to the COO and the best moments were:Successful delivery of ME Bank's $15M Change Program of work which included a full mix of projects: delivery of great new products, standard upgrades to existing systems and compliance work. We also implemented an agile delivery approach designed to soak up available capacity between larger more conventional projects. I had the privilege to lead a team of 80+ staff including the Vendor Management, PMO, Project Management, Business Analysis and Testing functions. Other interesting activities in the role included negotiating the ATM contract on behalf of ME with Westpac, working with Macquarie Bank on new product initiatives and presenting to the Board.

The highlight of this role was delivering the first successful project for the IT group in two years. As the Project Manager I was in charge of migrating a fragile transactional system to new infrastructure successfully in just six weeks. The challenges in this role were convincing a disenfranchised group of technical specialists to commit to the project and managing stakeholder interactions to give the team space to succeed.

When a postie delivers a parcel to your door the have a device you sign which uses parcel tracking software developed in-house at Australia Post. I had the honour of being the Lead Business Analyst for Post Logistics on the project that was responsible for creating that software. My role included the following deliverables:Writing the business case and RFP, working with IBM (system integrator) and other vendors (software developers, hardware providers etc.), eliciting the detailed requirements for the RFP, tracing these to multivendor functional specifications and working with technical Business Analysts on the data dictionaries. Co-ordinating and running, with the Project Manager, User Acceptance Testing with a national cross-functional team for the project.The data was fed back into the SAP warehousing system we had previously implemented and on that SAP implementation I was part of the Business Analysis team and later, the second level Operational Support team.
