West Valley AI is my independent advisory firm. I am currently focused on heading up data science at GeoFlow AI, building the world's largest search engine for business.

• Led a team of 20+ language engineers to source and prepare data for AI initiatives, including Generative AI.• Drove innovation in technical strategy to maximize data effectiveness and workflow scalability.• Dived deep into ethical considerations of data collection and implications for fairness and bias.

• Assessed and rebuilt the data science team with the skills needed to take the company through its next phase of growth, with a focus on leveling up our capabilities.• Managed dozens of machine learning models used in SaaS products, with predictions leading to millions of dollars of savings per customer. • Directed the development of a new natural language processing pipeline for a key product initiative, on track to reduce manual efforts by 10x.• Completed a proof of concept for a new line of business, creating predictive models with high levels of accuracy and explainability.• Created roadmaps balancing product development and innovative research with infrastructure improvements to scale up model development and deployment.

• Built a distributed twelve member team to drive innovation in natural language processing, data science, and computer vision in the course of consistent promotions during my tenure.• Integrated Quid team members and technology with NetBase, after NetBase acquired Quid in 2020. • Set the strategy for AI-driven product functionality, and coordinated across technical and non-technical teams to define and direct projects. • Delivered results leading to recognition in a 2018 Forrester Wave report as a leader among social listening platforms, citing “strong text and language analysis capabilities” and noting that “client references praise NetBase’s data quality.” • Designed and built a quality control system generating accuracy metrics for forty languages, including crowdsourced annotations. • Presented at customer conferences and wrote collateral positioning AI for non-technical audiences.

• Managed a wide variety of projects including industry-specific and generic ontology generation, translation testing, and Boolean search. • Hired/trained/managed consultants and other support personnel.• Designed and tested tool for upgrading dictionary from previous monolingual format to new multilingual format, saving professional services approximately 100 hours per upgrade project.• Provided level 2/3 support and worked on-site with clients including Yahoo!, T-Mobile, and NetApp.• Addressed requests from customer support, professional services, and sales, and resolved complex technical issues.• Wrote and maintained detailed documentation tailored to needs of support and professional services groups.
