I am a native Coda signer, raised in a trilingual environment with Auslan (from my mother), Irish Sign Language (from my father), and English. With extensive qualifications and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf and a NAATI Certified Auslan/English Interpreter and trainer, I am passionate about advancing Deaf education, bilingual language development and advocating ways to end language deprivation in deaf/HoH children.My academic work, including my PhD dissertation through the University of Queensland, focused on the advanced theory of mind performance in Deaf native, Coda and non-native signers, highlighting cognitive and social development in these communities.I offer consultancy, training, and assessments services in areas such as deaf bilingual education, language deprivation, legal expert witness reporting, theory of mind matters, and interpreting between Auslan and English.
