Private Practice Mental Health Counselor

Current
Riverstone

In my private practice, I focus on supporting those individuals recovering from complexly traumatic childhoods. We know that CPTSD can take many forms and I work with each individual to understand the impact of those childhood experiences on their current functioning. Currently, I specialize in parent/child attachment, relational trauma, religious trauma and adverse religious experiences, women's sexual wellness, and adult learned-secure attachment. I utilize attachment theory, EMDR, internal family systems, and other frameworks aimed at healing trauma from the root up rather than the top down. My philosophy holds that our feelings and behaviors make sense if we work to understand the underlying messages they offer. Being a person is hard work; our lives are complex and navigating the world is challenging even in the best of circumstances. What we all long for, a sense of wellness, is not just the absence of affliction, it is the presence of vitality. Each of us has the capacity for this vitality, where we live fully and whole-heartedly. Clients who find my services most helpful tend to be those who are looking for a new way of living, who seek a deeper understanding of their feelings, their relationships, and their life.
