Provides leadership of the organization’s long-range strategic plan, including tracking progress, resource allocation and coordination of the cross-collaborative team approach to achieving these goals. Promotes active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organization's work. Maintains all corporate records for the organization and cause proper reports to be submitted to appropriate agencies as required, while serving in the role of Secretary for the Board of Directors. Manages and motivates all staff to achieve organizational objectives and ensure that adequate personnel are employed for the purpose of carrying out the programs and services. Serves as fiduciary agent for the organization, including the development of budgets for all corporations, and oversight of the day-to-day expenditures of the organization. Provides regular communication to county and regional Farm Bureau organizations, Farm Bureau Financial Services insurance agency staff, report annually to the delegates on the affairs of the organization and represent the organization at the American Farm Bureau level.

The Minnesota Beef Council is organized to protect and increase demand for beef and beef products through state, national and international consumer marketing programs (promotion, education and research) thereby enhancing profit opportunities for Minnesota beef producers.In this role, Karin is responsible for coordination of all beef promotion and research activities in Minnesota, as well as, the oversight and administration of beef checkoff program.

Coordinated key leadership programs for the organization, such as the Promotion & Education Program and the Young Farmers & Ranchers Program. Organized and planned annual leadership conferences, events and seminars, to engage our membership with the organization and its programs. Served as a project leader for an organization strategic planning initiative. Effectively managed program budgets, including successful fundraising efforts. Served as assistant editor of the monthly newspaper, assisted in all media efforts and managed the website of the organization.
