Hi there! I was born in Buenos Aires, raised in Montreal, and I returned to Argentina after completing high school. Being a latchkey kid and only child molded me into being independent and quite resourceful. I’m not sure why but from an early age I loved pretending to have a desk job with my Lego-made computer. When I turned 12 I got a TRS-80 and I haven’t stopped pressing keys since then.I learned 4 languages growing up: Spanish at home, English at school, French on the streets, and my father had Portuguese friends. English and Spanish are my forte and I was able to leverage my knowledge to do the only thing I could after settling in B.A., aka La Ciudad de la Furia. I taught English to adults on and off for about 19 years, specializing in students with difficulties in language acquisition. Challenges are like an itch I need to scratch.During my almost 7 years at the Wall Street Insitute as a Service Manager, I learned about planning, organizing, recruiting, customer service, management, and then some. Problem-solving came naturally to me and some called me McGyver in more than one job. When I wasn’t in a teaching role, I was in an administrative one. I can’t say that I ever got bored. I worked at BankBoston, at an e-learning start-up, and at the Egyptian Embassy in Buenos Aires. Once a recruiter told me that I was the perfect fit for a Project Management position so I did that, too, and kept on stacking knowledge and growth. (I still am.)I’ve been working remotely since 2018 and today, I am the right hand of a successful Enterprise Account Executive in California. Though I don't do any selling, I've become proficient in CRMs like Salesforce and Hubspot. Doing web research, analysis for lead generation, and creating workflows for better automation has become my passion and I obsess over new software tools.Feel free to reach out: karinafernandez.wfh@gmail.com
