From a young age, Karina Davila's passion for design has been rooted in storytelling through compelling visuals. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, she advocates for education and prevention, focusing on the importance of boundaries, consent, and sexual health. Currently, she is lending her expertise in design and strategy to scale gameplay for Likely Story — a digital sexual health game.Karina is an experienced UX designer and researcher with expertise in user experience, design strategy, and user research. Guided by data and insights, she thrives at connecting the dots to reveal the bigger picture and solving complex problems through design. Her work sits at the intersection of human behavior and decision-making, and she is particularly interested in projects that drive social impact.Her career highlights include leading UX design and research at Thorn, a tech nonprofit focused on detecting and removing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) through advanced APIs. She has also contributed to user research for financial literacy and inclusion at Visa’s Innovation Center, and worked with notable organizations like UNICEF, The New York Times, Bloomberg, Steelcase, and One Workplace.Outside of work, Karina enjoys film, music, and exploring the outdoors through activities like running, kayaking, and hiking. She's also dedicated to spending quality time with her toddler, and her cat and dog are loyal companions during Netflix marathons. In her free time, Karina practices calligraphy and is currently training to become a yoga instructor.
