About Karina De Alwis
With over 14 years ad/digital agency experience as a Digital Producer, Executive Producer, Project Director and now Production Lead, I am a born organiser who admires healthy process, efficiency and quality creative. I love to simultaneously be an advocate for good ideas, while keeping things running like clockwork in the background.I started my career in Melbourne - in large integrated agencies such as Publicis and Clemenger BBDO. After gaining a solid understanding of big agency process, juggling multiple projects, and seamlessly integrating with project teams, I moved to DTDigital (now AKQA) in Melbourne, into a client-facing digital producer role to further hone my skills in managing digital, innovative, technologically-challenging projects. In 2013, I moved to New York City as an Integrated Producer, then Senior Producer for iris Worldwide. During my time at iris, I not only worked on several digital, print, TV and experiential projects, but I proactively played a key role in establishing and evolving the internal process at the agency. At DOMANI Studios as Senior Producer, and later Project Director, I manage a wide-range of projects from digital and integrated campaigns, to brand websites, to hospitality and e-commerce platform builds. My role expands beyond the client-facing project-focussed producer responsibilities, to include new business proposals, on-boarding new staff, mentoring the producer team, as well as an active role in internal resourcing and agency process.Now, back in Melbourne, as production lead at Tundra, I can utilise my previous experience to add value to our projects, help to grow and nurture the team, and our client relationships, and further hone my project management skills within an ever changing digital marketing landscape.My role sees me involved in the project from proposal, through kick off and discovery, onto experience design, right through development, QA and launch. Plus with clients spanning across industries such as government, retail, hospitality, charities, finance, confectionary, beauty, tourism, entertainment and liquor, I have developed a deep knowledge and insight in these categories.
