In this role, I work with both the Office of Children’s Health Protection and the Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights. My primary focus is the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act's Community Change Grants (CCG) and the coordination of the grants review process.

Trained, supervised, and led a conservation corps crew in the Green Mountains National Forest, Vermont. Projects included trail maintenance, erosion control, invasive species removal, and habitat restoration. Managed all paperwork, including incident reports, crew member development, expense receipts, daily logs, and project statistics

Worked closely with the Executive Director to identify priority legislation and issues. Tasks included monitoring policy activities, developing annual reports and press releases, revising and converting a bill into state regulations, facilitating video production & captioning of press conference briefings and PSA videos, and cultivating outreach.

Led a team of interns at the Poor People's Campaign, an organization that focuses on pressing issues such as voter suppression, healthcare coverage, social security, and ecological devastation. Organized and led committee meetings and social justice projects. Performed administrative duties, drafted memos, facilitated communications with partnering.

Engaged in United Nations' weekly seminars covering key thematic areas, including economic development, social development, education, climate change, conflict mitigation, and human rights. Conducted intensive research on global issues and various countries’ approaches to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); presented the content to UNA-NCA.

Investigated national and local on-campus issues for the university newspaper; authored and disseminated findings bilingually (English and American Sign Language). Coordinated, prepared, and summarized interviews with students about their viewpoints on issues; reported personal observations in weekly articles. Edited articles and documents, checking.

Maintained the university campus garden by watering, weeding, pruning, and harvesting produce. Initiated a composting program in partnership with the campus cafeteria to reduce food waste and hosted volunteering events for Gallaudet students and the greater DC community. Educated hundreds of campus stakeholders about the environment and urban agriculture.
