About Karin Aue
With nearly two decades of experience in strategic design consultancy across Europe and Asia, I am dedicated to impact-driven projects and sustainable design. My goal is to drive positive and sustainable change through a planet-centered and participatory design approach, integrating practice, research, and education.Since 2011, I have been based in Singapore as a partner at Chemistry, a planet-centric design consultancy with offices in Amsterdam and Singapore. Starting in 2024, I have also taken on the role of Senior Lecturer in the Division of Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore.In my practice, I focus on helping organizations transition to circular, regenerative, and sustainable practices.Originally from Vienna, Austria, I have had the privilege of living, working, and studying across Europe and Asia. During this time, I have collaborated with renowned design organizations such as IDEO (SG), Tama BI Art University (JP), KesselsKramer (UK), and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (NL).

CurrentMy focus is on the role of design in transitioning towards a just, sustainable, and regenerative future. I am particularly interested in design for a circular economy, sustainable behaviour, systems transformation, and planet-centered participatory design. In addition, I am the programme coordinator of the Master of Design in Integrated Design. The Master of Design program provides learners with a strategic, interdisciplinary platform to explore design’s changing role across businesses, organisations, and society and equips them with essential skills to address complex challenges through a blend of theory and practical experience.
