Focus on understanding the strengths and limitations of data and ensuring data is robust, reliable, and timely.Elementary Principal, Global Learning Charter School (Gr TK-8) - Led the development and successful launch of VUSD’s first elementary in-person charter school, including facilitating concept development and authoring the charter petition. In addition to standard principal activities, managed tasks related to being a separate LEA, including management of a more than $4 million budget and the annual development and review of the LCAP. Secured approximately $300,000 in grant funding, including the recent CA Community Schools Planning Grant.Elementary Principal, Royal Oaks Elementary School (Gr K-6) - Managed all aspects of a school organization, including budget, facilities, materials and supplies, curriculum and instruction, personnel evaluation, accountability, strategic design, and safety for students and staff. Supervised over 40 classified and certificated employees. Coordinated and communicated with stakeholders and the district regarding school site expectations, rules and regulations, and more.

Taught Educational Planning, Delivery, and Assessment to in-service educators in the administrative credential program. Course topics include strategic planning, continuous improvement, assessment and data analysis, and leadership. Introduce students to a rigorous process for developing and revising the annual school plan through engaging partners, reviewing school data, planning for strategic improvement, and building support. Prepare students for the successful completion of CalAPA Leadership Cycle 1: Analyzing Data to Inform School Improvement and Promote Equity.

Director of Research and Evaluation (8 yrs) - Conduct comprehensive evaluations of programs and practices for district and school-level decision-making. Present analyses and facilitate data-based discussions with district and site administrators. Analyze local and state test data for multiple purposes, including program improvement and required reporting. Coordinate with outside evaluators to facilitate the comprehensive evaluation component of the Race to the Top – District (RTT-D) grant. Participate on teams involved in district-level direction-setting, program development and planning, and other activities with broad scope and influence. Oversee end-user needs and troubleshooting for data analysis software systems. Coordinate with technology and curriculum departments to provide support for intervention software programs, instructional technology, and implementation of technology integration goals.Learning Director (1 yr) - Oversee culture and behavior on campus, including building positive cultures, maintaining discipline, and developing the school safety plan. Maintain and support software programs and interventions. Organize schedules for wide range of programs and activities, including campus duty, interim assessment, testing, interventions, and others. Facilitate student leader group called Team EMPOWER. Coordinate all state testing. Lead and support data analysis activities from the classroom to site-level. Co-lead site-level staff development. Complete all other leadership and support duties as assigned by the principal.

Taught face-to-face and blended classes to pre-service and in-service teachers in credential and master level courses. Course topics included: international comparative education, learning theory, research and evaluation, and introduction to teaching. Used Blackboard, a web-based communication tool, to enhance face-to-face instruction through use of multi-media content, interactive wikis, online surveys and assessments, and a student-accessible gradebook.
