About Karina L. Weinstein
I am a Jewish refugee from the former Soviet Union (Ukraine). My trajectory in the United States (and career in public service) is a result of committed citizens coming together to advocate for policy change and transformative educational and global learning opportunities. My life's mission is to pay it forward. As the Program Strategy and Innovation Director at FXB USA, I support the next generation to address the climate crisis and strengthen the resiliency of the most vulnerable communities to climate change impacts. I create measurable impact by bringing the right people to the table, engaging the community in program design, and sharing stories to mobilize hearts and minds. Under my leadership, the FXB Climate Advocates program has grown from eight participants to reaching over 500 youth across 45 countries in three years.I build effective partnerships and get things done. At the Association of Junior Leagues International, I provided capacity building support to Junior League leaders across the United States to shift from one-off community service projects to multi-pronged community programs. As the Director of the Beck Community Development Foundation, I developed partnerships across neighborhood associations, savings cooperatives, business chambers, and service delivery organizations to provide business skills curriculum, microcredit, and community empowerment training to entrepreneurs in Puebla, Mexico. I am raising three children in a multilingual, multicultural, and blended family. Thanks to my children, I am now an expert in Chutes and Ladders and Minecraft.
