I was hired as consultant and manger at CEPAQ (Centre for Research in Aquaculture), Mozambique - Chókwe, to develop hatchery operations and to provide input and hands-on training in aspects related to hatchery and grow-out of tilapia to local staff and students of the local technical school.The hatchery had production capacity of 1 000 000 fingerlings/month. Activities description:- Set-up of hatchery operations - Supervise daily activities- Laboratory protocols - Provide hands-on training to local staff and students- Create biosecurity and daily operation protocols- Planning of workflow for the overall hatchery operations - Coordinate with the Genetic Enhancement department overall activities- Solve daily problems inherent to the location/situation

Ecotoxicology research group - Research on the effects of ocean acidification and increased temperature on temperate fish physiology using proteomics, enzyme assays, and behavioural studies. During my PhD studies I also carried out side projects in ecotoxicology with silver nanoparticles, mixture toxicity, pesticides, sewage water, and tire rubber toxicity in fresh water and marine fish. The methods used included embryo developmental endpoints, behavioural endpoints using the Zebra Box automated tracking system (Viewpoint), adult behaviour, cell culture, and enzymatic assays.
