The National Library of Sweden (Kungliga biblioteket) is a government agency with approximately 350 employees. We collect, preserve, and provide access to almost everything published in Sweden. When we say "almost everything," we mean it - this includes printed books, magazines, newspapers, and all other materials produced in Swedish printing houses. Our scope extends to radio, TV, film, music, digital books, podcasts, digital theater plays, web articles, and more!As for my role, I work as a product manager within the Department of Metadata and Collection, ensuring that we develop systems suited for our mission.

All profits are re-invested to keep the book prices low and to help reading projects in society.Besides working with production, sales and publishing, I worked with several reading projects.- Broad knowledge of publishing since we were only 2 members of staff. I worked with the complete chain from signing books to selling them when they were produced.- Editing texts and writing copy and other texts for comunicating with different target groups.- Sales and PR, developing new channels for our books to sell and get read- Planning production of books- Project management- Keeping many projects going at the same time- Develop and assist several reading projects- Fundraising and support projects in writing applications.

I had different positions during many years in the restaurants for the most popular tourist experiences in Sweden. Göta Kanal and Waxholm III do both have a customer satisfaction rate of 97% or higher. Working with the most professional and passionate people taught me a lot and pushed me to keep and develop our high standards.Among the most useful learnings and important insights I gained are openness, respect, conflict handling and accuracy. But the most hands on knowledge I gained are the ability to organize complex events with demanding conditions, leading my staff in a stressful environment and planning both logistics and training staff.On top of this having a security responsibility and safety mind set since we always were cruising the see!
