Sales was not the path I had envisioned for myself back when I was going through college and getting an engineering degree. But, after 15 years with Florida Power and Light and traveling up the corporate ladder, I really wanted to do something out of my comfort zone and this was it. Of course it had to be in an industry that I could really support and maybe even change and after much reflection, I realized that the Real Estate and Mortgage industry could use some tweaking. My own experience in buying a home and getting a mortgage was not a very comprehensive one. It really didn't seem like the agents cared about my overall financial health; they just wanted to sell me the most expensive product. Well, I wanted to change that approach and really, if you're going to get into Sales, that's the ultimate goal; you have to find a way to do it different and better than the competition and then be able to sell it. I no longer sell real estate or provide tax and financial planning services; government laws killed my holistic approach and my niche in the market. I've scaled down my services to just include lending, specifically Reverse Loans. Which is a great se-quay into retirement plus it helps a demographic that can really use it - our seniors.
