https://www.psi.ch/ta/Karin Treyer has joined the Technology Assessment group as a Life Cycle Analyst in autumn 2011. Her projects are settled in the field of environmental assessment of novel types of fuel cells for power generation or deep geothermal power in Switzerland. Further research is focusing on how to cut down energy use in Switzerland by e.g. using a novel type of heat pumps, including the assessment of related environmental impacts. Besides, Karin is responsible for the electricity sector in the ecoinvent database which provides background data for doing Life Cycle Analysis. For this she has updated and extended all datasets on global power generation and electricity mixes for the complete database overhaul version 3.0 and continues to be active as an expert and data provider for ecoinvent.
