As the band director at a middle school with nearly 1,000 students, I work daily with students, parents, and teachers. I have demonstrated skills of communication with these students, teachers, and parents. Students are communicated with daily through instructional time and through the online classroom. Parents are communicated with weekly through email and throughout the week with phone calls. I have also provided my educational plans to my administrator weekly to share my planning for the classroom. I have shown organization skills through planning trips with over 100 students, organizing concerts that fill our gymnasium to capacity, and organizing the band performing at our state performance assessment.Through my studies in the teacher leadership program at American College of Education, I have developed leadership skills that have proven successful in the education field. I am eager to lead other teachers and be a better support to the students, parents, and staff in my school.
