I have experience working with a variety of students of different ages and backgrounds. My experience as a high school English teacher, professional development, and additional field work have prepared me for teaching not only my content, but also how to reach and differentiate for all students. I have practical knowledge of classroom management techniques and various instructional methods. Additionally, my experience teaching in a small Title 1 school district has given me personal, hands-on experience in a myriad of tasks. Working with constraints has made me a creative problem solver, not only in developing materials and curriculum but also in reaching students with varying home and academic backgrounds. My career has been marked by my DIY attitude, meaning that when I see a challenge or a need that I am quick to take initiative. My experience overseeing district level collaboration initiatives has served to make me a project planner and leader that coordinates and collaborates with both colleagues and supervisors.
