• 2021 Consulted on the development of student and teacher activities for the in-production educational Graphic Novella Maroons in the Great Dismal Swamp. An educational text being created in conjunction with If/Then Collection to promote interest in STEM/STEAM among middle school girls.• 2021 XanEdu Publishing, Inc. consultant and writer about topics in anthropology, archaeology, history, Maroons, and the African Diaspora for K-12 textbooks. Created four pillars and criteria for a proposed African American History course.• 2017 Smithsonian Institution Fact Checker for the Smithsonian Channel’s documentary “Escape to the Great Dismal Swamp.” This documentary covered the history of Maroons in the Great Dismal Swamp and drew from my dissertation research with the Great Dismal Swamp Landscape Study. I also appeared in this documentary. The hour-long documentary was released in February 2018, produced by Story House Productions, and aired on Smithsonian Channel.

Lab analysis, cleaning and cataloging numerous Native American artifacts. Completed profile drawings of soapstone bowl fragments from a prehistoric Native American site, Soapstone Ridge in Georgia.Michael C.
