Production support technician

Technical support coordinator for the UK Sales Company & it's Customer base, providing current technical product information.

General product marketing and promotional activities for the Air Preparation Business Unit’s $25M product platform. Technical and commercial support is provided between the customer and the business. This will be for both existing and new applications within the market place.Specific skills & tasks involved with this position are: • Formulate quotations on the basis of improving sales and gross margin.• Collate information and feedback to the business unit team on market demand for potential product improvements or new product development to improve our market share.• Implement product obsolescence/exit strategy programs in conjunction with division policy and objectives.• Maintain close working relationships with our US Business Unit, Product Managers, Division Sales Office and European Marketing team to provide accurate information when required.• Analyse and provide product forecasts to internal/external suppliers to help maintain customer service levels but not increase our stock inventory levels.• Collate product technical data into a template for web-site upload, containing all relevant links to: 3D model, Configurators & Catalogues, allowing customers to make product comparisons based on selected criteria.

Moved into this position as a new 'Tornos ENC 167' CNC was purchased by the company to reduce manufacturing complexity of Valve Spools. Throughout this role successful on-going cost reduction exercises were implemented.

Training programme developed for the use of: CNC Lathes, Millers/Machining Centers, Center Lathes, Vertical Millers, Pedestal Drillers, Turret Drillers, Surface/Cylindrical Grinders, Capstans and areas of Quality, Inspection. All manufacturing to comply with ISO9001 & ISO14001.
