Mathematical modeler with background in atmospheric and information sciences. Experienced with developing, testing and fielding numerical models to solve (or give insight into) engineering problems. Much of my work has been with rejuvenating old codes entrenched in the customer's critical path but fallen into disrepair because of neglect, changing industry focus or hardware migration. From Perl to Python, from C++ to Fortran to Java, I never met a programming language I didn't like.ACTIVE RESEARCHCloud Data Generation System (CDGS). I serve as project lead on this research delivering simulated cloud fields down to 20 km resolution, providing physically realizable cloud fields to engineering studies of larger DoD systems. Cloud simulations are initialized with fields from the Air Force Weather Real-time Nephanalysis (RTNEPH) and Cloud Depiction and Forecast (CDFSII) systems, then expanded in time and space using fractal methods. I am a co-principal investigator on this project, and serve as the lead for software development, bringing the mathematical abstraction to life as a rigorous yet relevant decision-support tool. A2C2 examines the command and control structure of large military organizations using human-in-the-loop experiments with distributed war-gaming software.
