Having made good progress in my previous role, I was promoted into this more advanced role.Whilst in this role, I attended an old handwriting workshop in Morpeth. This was a one day workshop decoding old handwriting manuscripts.

This was a starter task which involved working under the direction of the Library and Archives Manager on and off-site to accurately edit NEIMME book records in Koha, to add relevant information to each of the contents lists.

Working remotely to accurately transcribe a Colliery Viewer notebook This role involved following instructions to accurately copy from image files into a Microsoft Word document.

I started volunteering with FSNE to help with the Covid-19 response, in May 2020, initially based at the warehouse in Westerhope, and went on to complete over 200 hours of volunteering in three roles, following the whole process from picking and packing in the warehouse to delivering the surplus to Community Food Members in Newcastle, Gateshead, North & South Tyneside, Northumberland and County Durham.My time was split between the warehouse in Westerhope, in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne, and locations across the North East across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Northumberland and County Durham.Assisting with deliveries to Community Food Members across the North East including the loading of the van, picking the frozen products and completing maintenance checks prior to setting out, assisting with navigation, unloading the deliveries and interacting with the customers on the route, filling in the dispatch note upon arrival to each drop and then emptying and cleaning the van at the warehouse. Tidying and sweeping the warehouse, ensuring a safe working environment. Cleaning around the building.Picking and packing surplus food in a team and independently within the warehouse and chiller to be delivered to, or collected by, charities and community groups. This included locating and checking use by dates, filling in the picking list and then assembling orders into trays and crates and onto platform and into cages to be stored ready to be delivered.

Environmental Records - digitisation, extraction and reformatting of data, a hugely important task which converted existing wildlife information from various sources into a standard format in Microsoft Excel, allowing it to be used for conservation purposes. Maintenance - assisted with the refurbishment of the Stephenson Steam Railway. Cleaning and clearing and then painting the museum. Also regular cleaning of the museum and litter picking around the museum site.Curatorial - put together information to create new labels for the Saltwell Gallery at the Shipley Art Gallery. Started to organise filing cabinets of art history files.Outreach/Community Participation - delivered TWAM’s mission statement by volunteering with harder to reach groups. Promoted the Hatton Gallery off-site while it was closed for refurbishment, in various community locations. Engaged children and young people and older people with the venues and the collections, assisting with art workshops in community settings.Archaeology - labelled and boxed up bulk finds and put together databases.Development - successful Individual Giving fundraising at various events across different venues. Passionately involved with efforts to rescue Willington Wagonway timbers. Events and Communications - in behind-the-scenes and public-facing roles, including putting up decorations,Exhibitions - Stewarding a number of exhibitions including the popular 'All the Fun of the Fair' and 'Dippy on Tour' exhibitions in Newcastle.

I gained experience in Year 1, Year 3 and Year 4. In-class support, providing support to individual and small groups of children as well as listening to readers and recording progress.Supervising children on various school trips.Classroom tasks including sticking worksheets into exercise books, filing worksheets away, sharpening pencils, tidying up and cleaning the classroom, and making drinks/putting food out.Administrative support such as photocopying.This role ended prematurely due to Covid-19. In my final weeks in the role I supported in two classes, working between Year 1 and Year 3.

Over 180 hours of volunteering across seventeen unique venues and locations across Newcastle and Gateshead between June and September 2018 for the Great Exhibition of the North 2018. Ialso lead school groups around arranged trials, keeping them on time and providing information.Customer service, team work/independent working, working with children, heavy lifting experience, and more. Exact details can be provided on request. I was the proud recipient of a Young Volunteer Award, having been nominated by a fellow volunteer.

I demonstrated customer service, communication and team work skills and gained experience in merchandising. I worked Monday to Friday evenings on a temporary 20-hour, part time contract at the Metrocentre store.Although contracted for Tills, I assisted on various departments.Till operation, customer service and cash handling.Folding, tidying and size ordering merchandise on leisure wear, menswear, Denim and children's wear.

I learned about the history of the property, and shadowed a number of Volunteer Tour Guides over a number of months in preparation for giving a guided tour of the lighthouse to visitors. During my time in this role I gained in confidence.

There was a range of meet and greet tasks within this role with the learning and engagement team, covering the busy Easter period, including welcoming visitors, providing information about exhibitions and daily activities, supporting the activities, giving out prizes and ensuring visitors enjoyed their day. This was a largely independent role, in support of the Visitor Services team. I enjoyed interacting with visitors, answering their questions and providing information.

I supported readers in Year 8 who required some intervention. Later I assisted with librarian duties such as stamping books for students and moving books around the school, distributing them to classrooms and to a temporary LRC space, then back again, including arranging them onto the shelving.

BTEC Level 3 studies in Applied Science, Travel & Tourism and ICT in the sixth form and AS level History via distance learning.I attended extra lessons and worked independently from home.
