Having succesfully studied Architecture and gaining essential experience in various Architectural practices in the UK, Karl moved to Germany shortly after the reunification of East and West Germany. Initially working as a freelance Project Architect in Muenster (NRW), promotion allowed him to achieve Senior Project Manager and Office Manager (Leipzig) status for a middle sized Architectural Practice carrying out commercial projects in both West and Eastern Germany. Projects including various shopping centres, cinema complexes, doctors surgeries, financial institues and diverse housing projects were led by Karl with project values lying between 2 - 10 million Pounds. In 1996 he opened his first architectural practice based in Leipzig which was followed in 1997 with the opening of a further practice in Velen. Specialising in low energy sustainable residential schemes using alternative renewable energy resources, a vast amount of experience has been gained. Developing timber frame systems together with product development for manufacturers, Karl brings together not only his vast array of experience but also bridges the cultural differences within the differing building industries.In 2018 his previous experiences led him to setting up and leading KSL Gesundheit GmbH in Germany. As a family run company, aspects of sustainability and ecologially freindly products are brought together with health promoting aspects of everyday life. Providing mainly to the German market, products are sourced not only in Europe but also asia. Relaunching Lowe Design & Project Management in 2022, Karl has been able to re-connect to many established contacts within the building industry in both Germany, United Kingdom and Ireland.
