Demonstrating Algorithms and Data Structures to 1st year Undergraduates (17-18,18-19,19-20,20-21,21-22,22-23) and Demonstrating Introduction to Computer Science (MSc Business Analytics) (19-20)

In my 4th year at Durham, my 4th yr project is looking at implementing a secure and efficient R-LWE based cryptosystem, my 3rd year project looked at the cryptanalysis of symmetric block ciphers.

I've had various roles on the Durhack team.DurHack2017 - VolunteerDurHack2018 - Head of Logistics, Sponsorship OfficerDurHack2019 - Postgraduate Adviser, Sponsorship AssistantDurHack2020 - Postgraduate Adviser, Head of SponsorshipDurHack2021 - Lead Organiser.DurHack2022 - Organiser EmeritusAs part of this role I've helped DurHack grow from a 75 person hackathon to a 200 person hackathon (looking for 250 for DurHack 2022.2). As part of the sponsorship team I've helped raise over £50k across the 2018 - 2022 events.

HackQuarantine is a 3,500 person event, with hackers from 153 countries, all coming together to solve problems related to Covid-19.

My time here consisted of two, two week periods as a paid software developer and tester. The role consisted of working as part of a small team to develop new software as well as working by myself to test and subsequently fix issues with the existing software. I was also adding and preparing new features for future releases.

The role consisted of lifeguarding the swimming pool as well as a customer service based role which included meeting and greeting clients, opening and closing the club and working on the till.
