I have worked as adviser for several clients in civil law and intellectual property matters, providing services such as reviewing and drafting of agreements, intellectual property registration applications from advising through completion of the procedure (trademarks, copyrights, reservation of rights and other related procedures), and English to Spanish/Spanish to English translation of legal and literary texts.

• Advice and legal services regarding IP, entertainment and corporate matters for:- Audiovisual and audio content production in all stages (acquisition of rights, financing and tax incentives, development, pre-production, production, post production and distribution): review, drafting and negotiation of agreements for rights assignments, production and coproduction, first look, quitclaim and life story rights deals, options, licenses, releases, agreements to engage personnel, crew and talent (above and below-the-line), materials and music production and licensing, vendors and locations; clearance and liability identification; acquisition of rights to use materials, publicity rights, trademarks and for product placement; chain-of-title review, obtaining title and copyright reports; assist in the signatory processes with relevant guilds and unions; permits (filming, reproduction, etc.); arranging for E&O insurance coverage; review of deliverables, legal binder and final cuts to guarantee a correct delivery; agreements to exploit and promote the works and carry out impact and media plans and campaigns, actions and performances, workshops, screening tours and other events.- Registration and maintenance of rights for works, neighboring and related rights, and trademarks.- Advise, and review, drafting and negotiation of agreements for clients such as marketing and advertising agencies, content and event producers, media and publishing companies, executive producers, authors, artists and other participants of the entertainment and cultural industries.• Developed a strategy to improve the legal processes of several production companies for which the firm acts as in-house legal counsel.• Implementation of internal proposals and strategies to organize and maintain the firm’s cases, and to engage new clients and improve client services.

● I advise, do research and participate in reviewing and drafting of contracts to start every new audiovisual production project. ● Responsible for the development of each audiovisual project from the legal standpoint, I am in charge of working along with all other areas of the company, advising them, and reviewing and drafting agreements (above-the-line, below-the-line and third party agreements, such as services agreements for members of the production crew, intellectual property, vendors, locations and talent) for every stage of production through its completion and delivery of the final product and legal binder to the client.● I am in charge of drafting and reviewing all kinds of documents and agreements; of coordinating corporate, immigration and labor outside counsels and of following up on all procedures and trials assigned to them; of filing and following up on administrative procedures, mostly, intellectual property related (such as trademark, copyright and neighboring rights registration applications, film and reproduction permits, and other related procedures) through their conclusion, and advising the other departments of the company in general. ● In charge of reviewing, updating and improving the legal processes and procedure manuals; of personnel training on legal processes and intellectual property, and organizing, managing and maintaining the physical archive and the legal department databases. ● As part of an affiliate company of Fox International Channels (now part of The Walt Disney Company), I am responsible for generating reports to my managers in the Business & Legal Affairs and Compliance areas in order to comply with corporate policies and requirements.

● Responsible for drafting and reviewing copyright agreements required by the publisher for publication of books in Mexico for several themes and formats, as well as reviewing and drafting the copyright pages included in all final publications, along with the Editorial and Design departments. ● I was in charge of organizing, submitting and following up on applications for International Standard Book Numbers for each edition of the works selected for publication (approximately 150 titles monthly).● I was in charge of translation of documents needed for communication with foreign publishers and of advising the Editorial department of the company on copyright matters.

● I was responsible for assisting the clients by reviewing and drafting intellectual property agreements, particularly copyright related.● In charge of applications for registration of trademarks, copyrights, reservation of rights and patents (in all stages: searching, filing, reporting, and responding to Office Actions).● I provided advice on intellectual property in general for protection, registration and maintenance of clients’ rights.● I carried out translation assignments in relation to agreements and other documents required by the IP practice area of the firm.

● As the person responsible for the procedure of copyright and neighboring rights contract registration, I was in charge of following up on it from reception of the application through its completion (examination, preparation of Office Actions and final response to the applicant), where I achieved systematization and organization of such process in order to give the applicants timely responses, and improved the legal basis and overall wording of the Office Actions issued by the department. ● I was also in charge of providing legal advice and teaching about economic rights' assignments through training workshops for applicants and personnel training, for which I generated the required materials to successfully provide them.

● I assisted the Registration Department in everyday examination of works and contract registration applications, Office Action drafting and other administrative tasks.● I collaborated with the Legal Department by following up on appeals, annulment procedures and Amparo procedures in relation to works, reservation of rights and other related procedures.
