In pursuing a psychology major and criminal justice minor, I believe that I have the knowledge to contribute to the criminal justice system. I have developed a strong understanding of the police system, de-escalation tactics, and the police code of applying honor, duty, and fidelity. Additionally, from my experience completing the Trooper Youth Academy and Explorer Program, I was chosen as a demonstrator by troopers to lead my peers in the Explorer Program and I placed first in my class for the female physically fit top challenge at the Trooper Youth Academy. These additional experiences have put me at a higher ranking than most applicants when applying for the academy.In addition, I had begun to take further steps in my interest of working towards law enforcement by enrolling in New Jerseys Trooper Explorer Program, however this experience had been cut short due to COVID.
