I am excited to help grow our current educational programming and initiate new projects while enhancing our volunteer base.Under the direction of the Museum Manager and in consultation with appropriateCuratorial Centre staff, I am responsible for developing,coordinating, implementing and evaluating school programs, public programs and special events. The management and development of the Museum’s volunteer program is also under my stewardship. I also ensure the development and continuation of a high public profile and a positive image for the Western Development Museum in the community.• I am responsible for the overall operation of the Education, Public Programs and Volunteerdepartment including fiscal management• I maintain liaison with the staff of the Curatorial Centre to plan, coordinate, implement andevaluate programs• Develop, coordinate, promote, implement and evaluate school programs, public programs andspecial events• I am responsible for promoting the use of Museum programs/activities to schools through regular contact with the area school boards and teachers• I handle bookings of school and other group tours and ensure provision of information to all Moose Jaw staff and appropriate volunteers• I assist with the development of procedures and recommend policy for Museum tours and ensure their delivery• As a part of establishing relationships, I develop and present teacher in-services and seminars• Working with the Curatorial Centre staff, I develop educational programs, both school and public, relating to any travelling exhibits• I help to grow our volunteer base through ecruitment, orientation, recognition and training The WDM is Saskatchewan’s provincial museum with exhibit locations in Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon and Yorkton. It is the keeper of Saskatchewan’s collective heritage and shares the province’sunique sense of place with all people for their understanding and enjoyment.

I enjoy leading these fun and social events by providing step-by-step painting instructions to the group of attendees. They get to paint their very own masterpieces while enjoying beverages and appetizers with friends over the course of the event. I lend a hand where needed, providing suggestions or demonstrate different painting techniques. I love leading Paint Nite events and thrive on the challenge of instructing unique paintings to such a diverse audience.

I am able to share my enthusiasm for our local hockey team with visitors and fans while acting as an ambassador for the WHL Moose Jaw Warriors. I assist ticket holders in locating their seats, provide team line ups, and help to answer questions while providing exceptional customer service. My favourite part of my job is pumping up the crowd and rallying fans when our team scores; I get to cheer and give high fives while running the stairs each time we score a goal.I enjoy meeting the fans and sharing our passion for hockey.

While I worked at West Park Crossing Retirement Community, I led the marketing program at our community where I assisted in developing a marketing plan and adhering to it. Through this work, I coordinated all efforts to achieve occupancy in the personal care, memory care, and long-term care environments and increased awareness of West Park Crossing in the local community. I conducted tours of the community for prospective residents, families, and professionals, and performed home visits. Another role was conducting community visits and establish effective relationships with referral sources with health care and seniors' service providers. I represented West Park Crossing at various functions in local community, including trade shows and business fairs. At in-house functions and events open to the public, I was able to present information about community to small and large groups. I assisted in coordinating and implementing special events for the public as well as for our residents. I was responsible for coordinating the move-in process for prospective residents.

I strive to improve and deepen the organization’s relationships by ensuring that people who volunteer have a positive, planned, and personally customized experience, from the moment of expressing interest through to the end of their volunteer roles, with regular recognition and two-way communication. I ensure that prospective volunteers receive a timely, grateful and thoughtful response to an initial expression of interest, regardless of season or current activity. I develop volunteer-specific pathways for each person’s experience over time, rather than one-time placements. I follow up with volunteers after their placement with an opportunity to gather feedback about their experience and future interests.

For stations 800 CHAB, Country 100, and Mix 103; researched ideas, conducted interviews via phone or in person, attended, covered, and photographed events to write accurate and interesting stories for hourly broadcasts on the three local stations, as well as online versions for website, DiscoverMooseJaw.Com. Read and recorded on-air news, weather, and sportscasts; edited and dispatched to appropriate stations using the Burli program within a tight deadline while maintaining professional content.

In my position of fundraising and promotions coordinator, I manage a variety of public relations, marketing, social media and fundraising areas, and work cooperatively with the shelter director, committees of the board of directors, staff and volunteers to improve the overall efficiency of all aspects of fundraising and promotional activities, and to promote the various needs of the shelter and its animals.

Each week, I cover a number of different stories for the weekly edition of the Moose Jaw Value Express, writing articles that are approximately 700 words in length, as well as taking photos pertinent to the story.

As manager of this multi-use facility, I was responsible for memorial stone sales and orders, creating artificial floral arrangements, organization and ordering of funeral lunches, providing cremation services, as well as overseeing the use of the cemetery. As well, I was in charge of record keeping and day to day financial operations.

As co-manager of this family business along with my sister, I helped to oversee staff, training, and ordering of merchandise and related products for inventory. I also assisted with cemetery set up, preparation of the deceased prior to viewing/funeral services, and helping to make arrangements with families. As well, I was responsible for coordinating the various logistics of the ceremony with clergy, churches, halls, and cemeteries. Another part of my role was to prepare a variety of different funeral stationery and assist with the writing of obituaries.
