The majority of work was focused in areas of Human Resources and Recruiting including store-level recruiting, advising store management on employee issues and corrective action as well as conducting employee investigations. Research employment law and recommend changes to company policy and procedure and job descriptions as required.Key Results:• Developed monthly “HR Minute” e-newsletter and quarterly training for all levels of management to address ongoing HR issues practical tips for dealing with real-life scenarios.• Lead efforts to staff and train employees needed to open 7 stores in 120 days.• Successful arbitration, negotiation and settlement of various labor, DFEH and EEOC disputes.

This position was responsible for the daily operational Human Resource function for 18 stores. Tasks included, leave of absence management (FMLA/CFRA/PDL/ADA), performance evaluation management, employee termination and exit interview administration. First point of contact for all employee complaints and issues. Responded to all EDD claims for unemployment and represent organizations at hearings as needed. Review general liability and worker’s compensation claims, conducted quarterly safety inspections and coordinated employee return to work program.
