F-TEC is part of Karl Baum Associates. It is a dedicated training facility, offering an extensive range of forklift, powered access and associated industry engineering programmes, including: Apprenticeships, Advanced Level courses, Thorough Examination, Diagnostics, Safety, and more.F-TEC training centre was created to address the training needs of the industry. Working with some of the leading manufacturers and over 40 independent companies, F-TEC delivers training designed by the industry, for the industry.

The Lancaster Group, were part of the Jardine Matheson Group. This assignment was the first undertaken prior to the creation of Karl Baum Associates. I was responsible for the setting up of the training function within a six month period.Carrying out training needs analysis of all dealer personnel within the group, agreeing training programmes in conjunction with Dealer managers and the design and implementation of a wide range of development programmes including dealer management, aftersales customer care and selling skills.

Working in an environment which was second to none and with a totally professional team I was responsible for:The management of a budget commensurate with the training needs of a network of one hundred and seventy dealers. The creation of yearly training programmes in conjunction with senior managers and ongoing training needs analysis. The management of a combination of 10 dedicated staff and consultants.My key achievements in this role:Assess, design and implement a wide range of courses for the competence programme ‘Performance through People’ in Dealer Management, Team Building, Selling Skills, and Aftersales which included media film studio productions to enhance learning.Carried out a skills set analysis to define the strengths and weaknesses of the dealer aftersales network and implement the management and design of the ‘BMW Aftersales Career Programme’ and Managing Agency. I negotiated Government funding for this talent programme maintaining a major contribution to the ongoing cost of this talent programme.Create and deliver compliance programmes for senior dealer management, Train the Trainer, Employment Law and Health and Safety. This suite of programmes proved to be very successful in that it gained buy in from the senior audience on potentially sensitive subjects.
