Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room. Perform a focused assessment of chief complaint on each patient in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines. Assesses/reassess patient's condition. Documents all aspects of patient care and maintains patient records, in a timely manner. Delegate responsibility to appropriate personnel. Assist in the orientation and training of personnel; serve as a preceptor to 1st, 2nd yr RN students, and new hires. Trauma Registrar; Review Trauma documentation and report to State Trauma Board. Maintain certifications and continued education. Includes other duties as assigned.

Medical and post-operative care of patients through discharge. Telemetry monitoring of patients. Preceptor-ship of new employees, nursing graduates, and nursing students throughout their education. Excellent communication skills with physicians, nurses, patients, staff and families. Maintain current knowledge of both clinical aspects and educational techniques. Float to Family Birth Place, Acute Rehabilitation, and as a 2nd to ICU as needed.
