Chief Operating Officer at Nightlife MusicROLE: Employed to create and resolve a cohesive strategy with business owners and CEO, but business lost 90% of its customers overnight due to COVID. MANAGEMENT SCOPE: direct management of all operational and sales aspects of the business, with close collaboration with software and product development. Staff compliment of 76 at time of my departure; $22M target, 5,000 active venues.FOCUS: Initial focus was to completely restructure the company. Consistent with flat, agile structure, I stripped out middle management layer and introduced more robust and streamlined processes to support smaller staff component with a strong focus on job design. CEO made the decision to exit the company in May 2020, leading to me taking over key responsibilities and customer relationships. Managed relationships with key customers and worked to ensure appropriate payment plans and adjusted services in place to support post-COVID conditions.

ROLE: to manage the licensing division at PPCA to ensure tariffs are applied consistently in the collection of $33M annual budget, and over 60,000 active licences are managed efficiently. In helping to protect artists' rights, value in the music industry is retained so that artists can continue to be fairly compensated in this rapidly evolving marketplace.MANAGEMENT SCOPE: direct management of 3 cross-functional teams encompassing Business Development, Account Management and Event Licensing; 19 staff; $33M target, over 250,000 active licences and prospects. FOCUS: increase market penetration by working closely with Industry associations and internal marketing and communications team to maximise opportunities to educate a broad spectrum of industries on licensing requirements; simultaneously fulfilling the organisational objective to lighten all external touch points, which has required a considerable cultural shift in the divisions I am responsible for.
