Developed the vehicle specification for the Pittsburgh Light Rail System. Conducted tests on PCC cars to establish levels of adhesion available to street-running vehicles. Coordinated meetings with potential carbuilders and subsystem suppliers. Established performance criteria and coordinated design of the vehicle with track and structure engineers and operation planners.

I designed propulsion and auxiliary electric systems for railroad and transit vehicles and followed my designs through prototyping, manufacture, and commissioning. Projects included redesign of the propulsion system for the original Pennsylvania Railroad Metroliner multiple unit cars, development of standardized propulsion systems for the C-100 peoplemover, and development of advanced thyristor chopper propulsion systems for Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Washington Metro systems.
