Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) Engineer with the Dematic service team. I am responsible for responding to and developing solutions to hardware and software incidents with the AGVs on multiple customer sites around Australia, New Zealand and in the Asia-Pacific region. I must work quickly with technicians to determine the root cause in very time sensitive customer sites and develop cost effective solutions. These include hardware fixes and upgrades to the AGVs and associated plant hardware such as electrical wiring, safety sensor troubleshooting, replacing mechanical parts and developing both immediate and long-term fixes.I develop, debug and deploy PLC ladder logic and structured text for complex control systems and safety critical components both individually and working part of a larger team on large projects with multiple engineers.Much of my work involves developing quality documentation and updating old documentation to assist the site operators and AGV technicians. The AGVs I work on are complex and potentially dangerous machines, so I develop solutions that are easy to use and train site operators in the operation of the AGVs and methods for them to diagnose and resolve issues. Communication with site operators is face-to-face and providing remote support. Repetitive breakdowns or stoppages are simulated to recreate the incidents so that a long-term solution can be offered to the site and improve the AGV downtime.I use multiple software tools daily such as EPlan/AutoCAD Electrical for electrical drawings and panel layouts, Solidworks for hardware and Infor Syteline for stock/inventory and quoting.
