My older sister has gone into forestry. She has been a huge role model for me. Seeing my sister do what she loves inspires me and motivates me to do what I enjoy. I am looking forward to going into forestry. Listening to what she has talked about and her experiences had driven me to do what I love and enjoy. Competing in DECA for the past two years has been quite the experience. My partner and I finished top 10 in the area and made it to state in our first year. This past year we made it to state again and came in first place in our area for our event. DECA has really helped prepare me for my future. I have volunteered at my church and we have gone to Riverfront Park and have picked up garbage and helped clean up the area. I was a group leader for my church’s VBS camp. Having volunteered, it had helped me experience what is like to lead people from all different age groups. I play soccer competitively for Spokane Sounders and I also play high school soccer. I lettered my freshmen year for high school. I have been playing for 10 years and it has really showed me how important team work. Being on a team has helped me improve my leadership skills, how to solve problems when there is one at hand, and gain a strong worth ethic. These skills have really helped me succeed and will continue to help me.
