As the Education Manager and Press Officer of Scandinavian retailer Kjell & Company, I work with wide variety of tasks beyond book-writing and staff training (see the previous job). One of my two main focuses is to keep developing the staff training program so that consumers always meet a competent salesperson in our stores. The other focus is more related to marketing and making our digital channels as informative and educating as our sales staff. Managing the education departmentAs Education Manager, I’m responsible for Kjell & Company's education department. The job involves recruiting staff, coaching employees and preparing an annual budget.Handling press contacts (from December 2016)As Press Officer, I handle public relations and press contacts. By interweaving our education and PR strategies, I’ve established Kjell & Company as a business the media can contact whenever they want information on how stuff works or need insights from the industry. Producing content for the web and social mediaNo matter how much you search-engine optimize your website, nothing beats great content. By publishing our books online, free of charge, we’re making Kjell & Company’s website more relevant with a higher ranking in the search results. At the same time, we’re giving our customers the knowledge they’re looking for. To take everything one step further, I produce instruction films and host a podcast with topics requested by our customers. This content ties strongly to our presence in social media, where we mainly focus on marketing Kjell & Company as a retailer with deep knowledge about technology. Search-engine optimizingCombining digital marketing channels with a printed product catalog is a great challenge when it comes to copywriting. Hence, I created and developed a search-engine optimized language framework for Kjell & Company’s copywriters and editors to use.

As the creator of the staff training program at Scandinavian retailer Kjell & Company, I spent my days working with my hobbies: technology and education. I focused on the following tasks. Educating staff membersEvery salesperson at Kjell & Company has to participate in the company's training program. As one of the tutors, I held lectures, arranged workshops and produced e-learning courses about consumer electronics. Authoring “Hur funkar det?”“Hur funkar det?” (How does it work?) is a book series published by Kjell & Company. It explains the technology of today (e.g., computers, home networks and home cinemas) and is used for staff training as well as course literature in high school level and university level courses. The book series has sold more than 400.000 printed copies on the Swedish market as of today (the books are also published online free of charge). Keeping the staff up-to-dateIn a rapidly evolving environment, like the consumer technology business, it’s of the highest importance to keep the staff up-to-date. By maintaining the intranet/learning management system, publishing a weekly newsletter and producing corporate TV, I ensured that everyone knew about the latest products as well as new policies.
