I am currently the Administrative Assistant for PBS Reno. From the reception area, I greet visitors and facilitate any questions they may have (in person or through the phone). I work with our clients for AP and AR invoicing, and provide administrative support where needed.Prior to that, I was an English composition instructor with 5+ years of experience within higher education. I facilitated coursework, presented materials, provided feedback on writing, and constantly updated my teaching practices to better help students learn and grow as writers, researchers, and readers. As a teacher, I was always invested in making my class accessible, easy to invest in, and a place of good, clear communication. In addition to teaching, I write (fiction, poetry, and blogging) and do research (comparative studies, textual analysis, etc.). As a writer, I use many of the same skills as in my research: detail-oriented, syntactically structured, rhythmically minded, audience aware. My current research utilizes film, gender, and culture studies in its approach to horror.I am represented by Amanda Jain at BookEnds Literary.
